The winners for 2007:
 
In the Science and Technology Category sponsored by University of Plymouth the winner was:
 
ANN RIGBY-JONES, Associate Research Fellow and Analytical Project Manager for C3P Analysis Unit, Tamar Science Park
“….. the exceptional science research that Ann has undertaken is in the area of studies into the use of Remifentanil in Paediatric Intensive Care….. Ann had developed a novel high performance liquid chromatography …..This study has demonstrated that small babies and children aged from 1 month to 9 years of age require almost double the dose of remifentanil than a larger child could need.  …..this data provides a scientific basis for calculating drug doses for individual children in intensive care…”
 
 
For Construction and Engineering sponsored by Williams Southern Ltd the winner was:
 
CAROLINE PENGELLY, Operations Manager, Trevecca Mouldings, Liskeard
“….she knows every part by number and there are over 500 products… we supply these to the Royal Navy, Plymouth Harbour and many marinas and harbours worldwide…..  Caroline manages the whole production on site….”
 
 
The Young Business Women award, sponsored by Plymouth City Council was won by:
 
SARAH LOCK, Owner & Manager, Urban Brew Café, Royal William Yard
“…Sarah has worked hard since buying Urban Brew earlier this year to establish it as a hub in the Royal William Yard……with a vision for the future including a private members bar…..A mum who combines running a successful business with raising a family….”
 
 
The Female Entrepreneur Award sponsored by Business Link Devon and Cornwall went to:
 
NICKY EDMONDS, Managing Director of Insideout, Lifestyle Store Tavistock
