What We Do / Young Enterprise

Young Enterprise

The Devon Chamber of Commerce has been responsible for the management of the Plymouth Young Enterprise project since 2012.

In 2013-14 thirteen teams took part in the challenge from Coombe Dean School, South Dartmoor College, University Technical College and Lipson Cooperative School.

The remit of the Young Enterprise programme is for teams to set up and run a real life company over the course of a school year. Teams must elect a board, sell shares, design, make and sell products and then liquidate and pay taxes at the end of the year.

Each team attends a weekly board meeting where they receive advice from city business people. For 2013-14’s programme companies involved included KPMG, Babcock, Bond Dickinson and Bishop Fleming.
