Finance for Growth
Thursday 15/05/2014 - Thursday 15/05/2014
Plymouth Chamber of Commerce is delighted to be holding this event, funded by the Regional Growth Fund, as part of the Plymouth and South West Peninsula City Deal.
Whether you are just starting up in business, or you are a large, well established enterprise, access to finance is critical to your success, particularly if you are looking to grow. This event is designed to dispel some of the myths, as well as answer some of your questions about the huge range of options available. It will also give you direct access to a range of experts and the opportunity to hear from a local business about how they managed to overcome the challenges of growing their business successfully, despite the recession of recent years. There will also be plenty of opportunity to network and share experiences.
Delegates will hear from Andrew Lightfoot, Business Finance Network; Dave Young, The UNA Group and Peter Scott MBE, Plymouth Chamber of Commerce.
After hearing from our speakers, there will be three workshop sessions, one aimed at start-up and new businesses, one discussing equity finance and the third covering loan finance. These sessions will be a taster of the opportunities available, there will be more in-depth workshops to follow and these will be heavily guided by your feedback.
There will also be a plenary session at the end with a question and answer panel including all the speakers.
Delegates can choose one of the following workshops to attend (please note which workshop you would like to take part in when registering):
Business Start-up and Micro finance
Rob Guy from Outset Finance and Katie Sandow from South West Investment Group will cover the various finding options available to start up and new businesses.
Funding growth through equity finance
Using case studies, Mark Greaves from Francis Clark will explain how to access equity finance to help grow your business as well as debunk some of the myths surrounding this subject
How to get Loan Finance approved by using Banks and other sources.
Get the inside track from Steve Thompson from Lloyds Bank and Chris Burt from South West Investment Group, who both approve business loans.
