Arab Certificate of Origin
What is it for?
The buyers (importers) usually require an Arab Certificate of Origin to:
- Meet Customs requirements in the importing country
- Meet ‘quota’ requirements imposed by the importing country
- Comply with banking requirements or for other official and commercial reasons.
What happens with the documents?
When a set of documents has been presented to the Chamber, they are forwarded to Arab-British- Chamber for certification. If a legalisation is required, the Arab-British Chamber forwards the documents to the UK embassy of the importing country. When this has been done, the Arab-British Chamber returns the document to the Chamber.
It is essential that exporters allow extra time for the presentation of documents, and to keep in close touch with their Chamber regarding the return of documents.
